DAV 84 MINUTES OF THE MEETING

JUNE 1, 2018

Commander Terry Vorderer called the meeting to order at 19:30 Hrs. The Adjutant called the roll: All officers were present and accounted for. OPENING CEREMONY The opening ceremony was conducted with participation of Chapter Members OFFICER REPORTS: READING OF THE MINUTES: The meeting of the previous minutes were read and a motion was made and seconded to approve. Following discussion, the motion was unanimously approved. TREASURERS REPORT: Treasurer John Fanning reported on the financial status of the organization. A motion was made and seconded to approve. Following discussion, the motion was unanimously approved. CORRESPONDENCE: Correspondence received by the Chapter was described to the membership. REPORT OF SICKNESS AND DISTRESS: None FORGET-ME-NOT REPORT: Junior Vice Commander Bertucci spoke of the need to automate contributions to allow donors to contribute through telephones and associated apps. Travis Hackney and John Fanning were chosen to research such technology and report back to the Chapter. Commander Vorderer applauded the effort and success of volunteers for the Forget-Me-Not drive and encouraged members to volunteer. OLD BUSINESS: Commander Vorderer described participation preparations for the July 4th Parade in Oak Lawn, Illinois. The Commander has arranged for vehicles to carry members in the parade. NEW BUSINESS: Volunteers were called upon to assist John Stevo in the Forget-Me-Not drive. Bob Wilcock’s was introduced as a visitor by Commander Vorderer. Mr. Wilcock’s is a WW!! Veteran who earned a purple heart on the beach at Normandy during D-Day. Mr. Wilcock’s spoke to the Chapter briefly and announced that he would be transferring to Chapter 84. Commander Vorderer spoke of a ceremony undertaken on Memorial Day in Oak Lawn and those participating in that meeting. GOOD OF THE ORDER: Chapter SO Stevo spoke of the need for more room to accommodate members during meetings. Commander Vorderer stated that he is working on this and has made arrangements with the Oak Lawn Elk’s Club to temporarily accommodate the Chapter if needed. NSO Ben Fugate spoke about procedures members should take during meetings to efficiently process claims ADJOURNMENT There being no other business to discuss, a motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting. Following discussion, the motion was unanimously approved. Commander Vorderer called for closing ceremony and prayer, led by the Chapter Chaplain.
